Generation 1 is a study testing whether two new treatments are able to prevent or delay the onset of symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease
You can take part if you are 65 – 75 years old
Part one – Volunteers attend events for a 35 – 45 minute session with the research nurse where they will hear more about the study and what is involved. If volunteers then wish to consent to part one then a mouth swab would be taken to test for a double gene.
Part Two – a small number of volunteers are asked back to discuss genetic status and see if they wish to take part in part three – which is the clinical trial to test two new treatments.
Volunteers who take part in Two and Three will receive travel expenses and lunch
Part one (Pre-screening) will take place in Prestwich or Manchester next to the Manchester Royal Infirmary
Part two and three will take place at the Clinical Research Facility in Manchester
